Boxing Day 2025: A Record of 16 Product Prices

By Alex Bosier · 15 years in the UK deals and savings industry (VoucherCodes, Atolls) · LinkedIn

Page updated 26 September 2026

The retained 2025 sample contains 16 products from five UK retailers. Eight are Currys televisions, with advertised price differences of 5.0% to 28.7% against the retailer’s comparison figures. These are findings about the recorded products, not a measure of the UK market or proof of the year’s lowest prices.

The source pages were captured between 26 and 30 December 2025 and analysed afterwards. A capture date is not a claim that the author personally visited, bought or tested the product that day. This page’s methods and conclusions were corrected on 26 September 2026.

What is in the sample?

The table includes every unique 2025 product record retained in the research store: eight televisions, one laptop, one vacuum cleaner, two hair appliances, one mattress and three clothing items. Records were limited by the archived pages available to the research. This is not a random sample or a complete retailer catalogue.

The Hisense E7Q television and ASUS laptop also appear in category records in the store; those cross-references are counted once. The store’s separate 2024 furniture records are excluded from this 2025 comparison.

Each row links to an archived retailer page. The observation is a price at that capture, not necessarily a new Boxing Day markdown or a price available throughout the day. The comparison figure is the retailer’s displayed previous price or RRP, not an independently established usual market price.

The calculation is (comparison figure − observed price) ÷ comparison figure × 100, rounded to one decimal place. Delivery, membership conditions and stock were not consistently recorded, so the figures are not delivered-price comparisons.

The cash differences in these eight records range from £50 to £104. Four show percentage differences below 12.5%. Their observed selling prices range from £199 to £949; £999 is a comparison figure in two rows, not the highest selling price.

Seven rows come from one sale-listing capture on 27 December. The Hisense E7Q row comes from its product page on 28 December. This cannot establish typical television discounts, differences between retailers, or whether Boxing Day beat Black Friday for these models.

Next: TALA Black DayFlex Ruched Strap Bandeau BraCaptured 26 Dec, 01:49:55 UTC, December 2025. Observed: £21; retailer comparison figure: £42; difference: 50.0%.

Within these 16 records, the largest percentage difference is the Vax vacuum’s 50.4%; the largest cash difference is £419.80 on the John Lewis mattress. Two clothing records show 50%, but those figures do not date the markdowns. The uneven category coverage is too small to rank clothing, televisions or appliances as the best Boxing Day category.

What the recorded price histories add

The TALA bra’s retained Next price history records £21 from September 2025, against £42. The 26 December observation therefore shows a price already in place, not a fresh Boxing Day reduction. That finding concerns this product only; it cannot show how common older markdowns were.

The John Lewis puffer record shows £79, then £55.30, then £39.50 by the 30 December capture. The record does not date each step. It supports a sequence of displayed prices, but not a claim that waiting until after Boxing Day would have secured an extra reduction.

What the Amazon record can tell us

No verified Amazon product-price records are included in this sample. Separately, the retained Amazon UK homepage captured on 26 December 2025 recorded no Boxing Day sale branding at 10:58 UTC.

That is an observation about one page at one time. It does not establish that Amazon had no named UK event, no discounted products or no relevant sale pages elsewhere. It supplies neither a launch time nor a discount level.

Method and source limits

The retained records describe retailer page markup, structured offer data and, where available, price histories retrieved through the Wayback Machine. Capture timestamps identify the archived pages. The research store was last updated on 11 August 2026; that date is not a claim that the author performed the research in December 2025 or checked every source on the same day.

For this 26 September 2026 revision, all 16 percentage differences were recalculated from the retained amounts, and the sample and duplicate counts were checked. Selected archive retrievals were unavailable during the revision, so this is a reanalysis of the retained records, not a claim that every archive was freshly reopened. The historical amounts and their source URLs remain unchanged.

Using the record when shopping in 2026

Check the exact model or variant, the date of the comparison price and the total payable. A large percentage against an old reference price can coexist with little or no recent price movement. These records do not predict any 2026 offer.

The go-live times guide separates announced sale starts from archived observations. For practical comparison steps, see how to get the best Boxing Day deals.
